Andrássy út (Andrássy Way)

Andrássy út in Budapest could easily be compared with Regent’s Street or Bond Street in London due to the large number of designer shops like Gucci and Louis Vuitton that are situated on it.

Andrássy út is also home to some great restaurants and a few other interesting historical landmarks including the Hungarian State Opera House.

Budapest’s Metro Line 1 runs along the course of Andrássy út which is one of the key factors that have led to it being such a hub of activity and commerce.

If you have a few hours to spare in Budapest and fancy a walk along a leafy shopping street then Andrássy út is the place for you. There are lots of good restaurants on or near Andrássy út too. Liszt Ferenc tér is notable for the number of restaurants, cafes and bars it is home to including the famous Hooters Budapest which is popular with stag parties.

Another place, not really for stag parties but perfect for cake and a coffee, is the former Big Parisian Shopping Centre now the Alexandra Bookstore.
