Budapest District 5 Highlights

The V district of Budapest (or Budapest District 5 as it is also known) is one of the best districts in Budapest to get to know if you are visiting Budapest for a short time as it contains so many of the highlights of Budapest and is in the centre of the city.

District 5 is officially called “Belváros-Lipótváros” literally meaning “Down Town/Inner City-Leopold City” and combines the old districts of Lipótváros – named after Leopold II in 1790, and Belváros – meaning down town or inner city.

District 5 is also home to Deák Ferenc metro station where metro line 1, metro line 2 and metro line 3 connect.
