Budapest Zoo & Botanical Gardens (Fővárosi Állat és Növénykert)

Everyone loves animals. That’s just a fact, and they especially love animals at Budapest Zoo & Botanical Gardens one of the top tourist attractions in Budapest especially for those on family holidays in Budapest.

If you are visiting Budapest with your family – particularly if you have children – then Budapest Zoo & Botanical Gardens could be the perfect place to visit during your stay if you want to keep your kids entertained on your holidays and expand their knowledge of the World.

Close to the city park, the Széchenyi thermal baths, the Museums of Fine Arts Budapest and Heroes Square it is easy to combine visiting Budapest Zoo with visiting other tourist attractions in Budapest.

With more than 1000 different species of animals at the Budapest Zoo you will be able to see everything from an Aardvark (Földimalac) to a Yellow Anaconda (Sárga Anakonda).

Whether you want to see newborn bay animals, watch the animals being fed, immerse yourself in a 4D movie or pet a snake you will find something to enjoy from the extensive Budapest Zoo activity program which includes more than 40 different daily events you can be involved in.

  • Main Zoo:
    • Monday to Thursday: 9am – 6pm
    • Friday – Sunday: 9am – 7pm
  • Animal Houses:
    • Monday to Thursday: 10am – 5.30pm
    • Friday – Sunday: 10am – 6.30pm

Please note that closing times will be brought forward from the 21st August onwards for the Autumn season.

Children under 14 years can not enter the Zoo without adult supervision.
