Today is St. Stephen’s day in Hungary celebrating Szent István király who was the first king of Hungary approximately one thousand years ago.

Today, August 20th is a public holiday in Hungary. Earlier in the capital city, Budapest, there was a huge fireworks display on the banks of the Danube. Below are some photos showing the fireworks:
